I totally thought I was cynical until I read this book, which accompanied the philosophy class I took. As a biochemistry major, it was weird to hear a book say that science was the answer to all the mysteries in the world when science seems to unveil more mysteries than answers to the "weird things" out there. I don't mean crying statues or what-not, but the meaning of why everything is the way it is. And don't get me wrong, I don't consider myself even a spiritually minded person; but the dogmatism from this book coupled with the lack of real facts made it annoying to read from my perspective.
